Use Scratch to create an animation of a world
where anything is possible!

Imagine a world where everything is possible!

Create a project on Scratch with your ideas about what the world (or universe, or galaxy!) would be like if we could solve environmental or social problems, or just make some crazy ideas come to life.

What world are you creating?

Materials

  • In order to do this activity, enter scratch.mit.edu or download the Scratch App, available on Android 6.0+, Windows 10+, MacOS and ChromeOS.
  • Use the Imagine a World cards to help you with the activity, or watch a tutorial on the editing tab of your Scratch project.

Steps

See an example of how to do the activity:

1. Imagine!

What change would you like to see in the world?

It could be something crazy like a chocolate lava volcano, or a project that focuses on solving social or environmental problems, like an automatic tree replace or a groundbreaking technology to clean the oceans. Enter Scratch Studio to get some inspiration.

2. Create!

It’s time to get to it and create
a Scratch project!

What are you making?

Use the suggested Scratch Cards in the materials to help you with the project.

3. Share!

Invite friends and family to see what you’ve created! How about sharing your project and posting it on the studio?

You can also urge other people to create their own project as well.

What was your favorite part of creating this project?

What was the hardest part to build?

What would you like to add to the project?

Cool tip

If you want, you can download and print the Imagine a World Scratch Cards to help you create your project.
In order to save your project so that you can share it with other people, register on Scratch and log in before starting programming.
If you’re an adult and want to know more about how to manage this activity with children, visit the Scratch Resource Guide.
