How about creating fun signs to express our interests and passions?

What are the things and people you like the most?

How would you express your passions?

Riding your bike, playing soccer with your friends, eating yummy cupcakes, the smell of your favorite homemade meal…

In this game, you’ll use all your creativity to create signs that show who you are. Then share them with your friends and family.

Materials

You can use materials that you already have at home like string, pieces of paper and tape. See some other suggestions:

  • Colored paper or cardboard
  • Pieces of cardboard boxes
  • Plastic bottle caps
  • Pieces of fabric
  • String
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Masking tape
  • Colored pens, crayons or colored pencils

Steps

Look at an example of how to do this activity:

1. Imagine!

If you could express yourself or one of your biggest passions, how would you do it? What elements of your personality or your hobbies would you put in a sign and share it with friends and family to tell them a little about who you are?

2. Create!

Let’s get started! Use the material you have to create a sign that is meaningful to you. You can draw, paint, glue, rip, fold and even combine the sign with some other object you already have. Remember: the goal is to create a sign that represents who you are in a fun way!

3. Share!

It’s time to show and tell someone the story behind your sign!
What did you make?
What was your motivation?
Why did you use those materials?
What would you make if you had more time and materials?

Cool tip

How about using small electronic device parts in your sign?
LED lights, small motors and batteries can bring your project to life!

Take a look at what some people have created!
