Get into the craze of famous artists live performances on stories and make your own festival with your family!
After doing some of the activities on our website and other fun games, organize a festival! This is a talent exhibit to show everyone the musical, choreography or literary productions you’ve created at home.
Gather your family and have a festival that will show all kinds of talents!
Materials
Here are some suggestions for organizing your event at home:
- Sheets of paper
- Flashlights and other lamps
- Colored cellophane sheets (to color the lights)
- Markers or hydrographic pens
- Cardboard (to create a stage and even a microphone)
Steps
Look at an example of how to do this activity:
1. Imagine!
How is a talent show made? How will your home soiree be?
Talk to people in your family and invite them to do an artistic performance.
You can make a list of the different modalities of the soiree and who will perform them. For example:
Johnny: bucket tambourine, a classic Rock’n Roll melody!
Alice: magic dance to the beat of pop music!
You: sunshine day poetry!
2. Create!
You can put all of your creativity into your home soiree. See some examples:
Advertise it!
Set a date and time for the talent show. Come up with a catchy slogan and make a cool sign to advertise it. Affix it to the kitchen door, the living room wall or any other place in the house where everyone can see it.
Set up!
Set up the area where the event will take place. Is it the backyard? Is it the living room? On the day of the talent show, clear the space and install everything that is necessary for each performance. If someone is playing music, make sure they have what’s necessary to play. If someone is doing a shadow theater, make sure there’s a flashlight.
Present!
You are the host of this event! When the soiree starts, welcome the audience, tell them what the event will be about and present the performers to “come to the stage” and show their talent. Make sure there’s a place for the audience to sit and watch, it could be the sofa, a bed or a rug on the floor.
3. Share!
The soiree itself is already a sharing experience. To make it even more interesting, ask your family for help to take pictures and videos of all the performances and share them on social media or group-text message Apps with your loved ones. 🙂
Cool tip
If you want to make things more spontaneous and exciting, organize a soiree with family and friends that are far away and perform to each other live in a video call! One house can play a song, another one can recite a poem, a third house can have a puppet show… The artistic variety would be amazing!
Take a look at what some people have created!
