Create a magazine or newspaper cover to write
the news you’d like to see in the future!

Imagine how the world will be like in the near or distant future, and use materials you have at home to create a magazine or newspaper cover to portray all the news and stories you imagined.

What would you like to see coming true in the future?

Materials

  • Magazines and old newspapers
  • Colored pens and magic makers or colored pencils
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Paper

Steps:

Herer’s an example of how to do the activity:

1. Imagine!

Imagine how the world will be like in the near distant future, and use materials you have at home to create a magazine or newspaper cover to portray all the news and stories you imagined.
What would you like to see coming true in the future?

2. Create!

You can create a cover that shows news you would love to see in the future, or something that’s based on your predictions for our world. It could be good, bad or even funny news. Create a collage with text and pictures from magazines and newspapers, or use your creativity to draw and write your cover. You could even mix those two techniques by writing the headlines and illustrating them with the pictures.

3. Share!

After creating your cover, share your project with friends and family. Listen to what they created and why they chose it, and if you want, discuss what the future looks like to all of you.

Cool tips

When you’re done with your cover, you can save it in your time capsule and open it in the future, in the year that inspired your cover!

Share on social media and urge more friends and family members to make their own magazine cover!

Inspiring pictures!
